The CMA welcomed the progress and recommendations of the Glasgow Committee on Non-market Approaches and requested the continuation of the work programme. Additionally, the CMA mandated the development and operationalization of a UNFCCC web-based platform to facilitate the exchange of information on non-market approaches, and set deadlines for its completion​.

It requested the secretariat to include activities in its broader capacity-building program to help Parties identify, develop, and scale up non-market approaches.

In line with its COVID-19 response, the UNFCCC secretariat did not convene any physical meetings and instead conducted a series of online events under the guidance of the chairs of the SBSTA and the SBI and with the support of the UNFCCC secretariat. This arrangement offered an opportunity for Parties and other stakeholders to continue exchanging views and sharing information in order to maintain momentum in the UNFCCC process and to showcase how climate action was progressing under the special circumstances the world was facing.
