Designated National Authorities (DNAs)

As at 9 April 2025, 101 countries have submitted a designated national authority (DNA).

These are listed by country name in the tabs above: A-H, I-Q or R-Z.

How to designate a national authority for the Article 6.4 mechanism

By Decision 3/CMA.3 and its annex, Parties to the Paris Agreement are invited to designate their national authority for the mechanism established by Article 6, paragraph 4, of the Paris Agreement (known as the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism) and communicate that designation to the UNFCCC secretariat (Supervisory-Body@unfccc.int).

In the communication to the secretariat, Parties should provide the following:

Name of the organization to act as the national authority;
Address of the organization with city and country;
Full name of the contact person with Mr. or Ms., and functional title;
Telephone number and email address.

Once the communication is received, the DNA will be added to the respective tabs above.

How to complete and submit a Host Party participation requirement form

For Parties interested in participating in the A6.4 mechanism, it is important they complete the form: Host Party participation requirements for Article 6.4 mechanism (Word) / (PDF) (A6.4-FORM-GOV-001).

This form will contain information on the roles and responsibilities of their of activities under the mechanism, as referred to in the annex of Decision 3/CMA.3, section IV (Participation responsibilities) and section V. C. (Approval and authorization).

The completed form shall be sent to the secretariat (A6.4mechanism-info@unfccc.int) by the DNA. The secretariat will then publish the completed form in the corresponding country column found in the above tabs.
