Background
At its fifteenth meeting, the Supervisory Body (SBM) took note of the information note “Legal, technical and financial implications of providing functionality for the treatment of financial security interests in the A6.4ERs within the mechanism registry” and, considering the conclusions of the analysis on framing user’s rights considered in the information note “Analysis of the pros and cons related to framing users’ rights with regard to control versus confirming ownership of accounts holdings”, requested the secretariat to continue work on the possibility of providing functionality for security interest arrangements in the mechanism registry through a pledge system.
The SBM requested the secretariat to launch a call for stakeholder input on the security interest focused information note, including on the possibility of providing functionality for security interest arrangements in the mechanism registry through a pledge system, as explored in section 8 of the information note. The SBM requested the secretariat to present a compilation of the inputs received to the Supervisory Body at a future meeting.
