This UNFCCC handbook has been prepared to assist first-time observers attending a UNFCCC Session. It is also a valuable resource for seasoned observers, as it contains key information to help navigate COP 29. In the handbook, you will find some pointers on how to engage effectively and contribute to the UNFCCC process.
This overview schedule aims to support participants in preparing for the sessions.
It should be considered indicative and will be updated with new information as it becomes available. Information on a few events which status is “TBC” will be provided soon.

The secretariat refers to the notification dated 24 June 2024 regarding the United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held from 11 to 22 November in Baku, Azerbaijan, and wishes to inform Parties and observer States to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement of the opening of the online registration system (ORS) for Parties to register for the list of speakers for COP 29 and deliver a national statement during the first part of the high-level segment for Heads of State and Government during the World Leaders Climate Action Summit and the resumed high-level segment of the conference.
The ORS for registering speakers for the first part of the high-level segment for Heads of State and Government and the resumed high-level segment is open from 09:00 on Monday, 19 August 2024 Central European Summer Time (CEST) until Friday, 27 September 2024, midnight (CEST).
