The Capacity-building Tools & Methodologies Marketplace Day will provide a platform to demonstrate how capacity development tools and methodologies are created, what capacity gaps they address, how they are used, what value they generate, and how they can be scaled up to bring about greater climate-related action and ambition.

14:45-15:45 Introducing the Global Capacity Building Platform: A New Resource for Climate Finance Capacity Building This event will feature a demo and interactive discussion on the newly launched Capacity Building Platform, focused on financial institutions and finance professionals in EMDEs, to help mobilise capital for the transition. Participants will get to provide feedback on the platform, as well as to hear from practitioners, investors and others on critical priorities for capacity building to unlock climate capital at scale. What? - Objectives and Topics 

The Tools & Methodologies Marketplace Day seeks to highlight the fundamental importance of effective capacity-building tools and methodologies for delivering climate action in developing countries.  With representatives from public sector, private sector, international organizations, climate finance, research and academia, and youth, the day will emphasize the importance of working together to build capacity, and the need for an urgent scaling up of investment in capacity-building solutions to ensure increased climate resilience in all countries, leaving no one behind.

 

Why? - Significance 

Capacity-building tools are essential for equipping individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills needed to address climate change effectively. They facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the development of technical and institutional capacity for implementing capacity-building efforts for climate action. By gathering together organizations with a longstanding track record in developing and delivering capacity-building initiatives across diverse sectors, regions and socioeconomic contexts, this day provides a unique opportunity to meet and talk with those who are making a difference on the ground and to illustrate how increasing investment in capacity-building solutions can benefit people and planet.
