Global Capacity Building Coalition (GCBC)

Background

The Global Capacity Building Coalition brings together some of the world’s leading climate finance organizations and capacity building providers to streamline access, improve availability and enhance effectiveness of climate capacity building and technical assistance, with a focus on emerging markets and developing economies. In doing so, it aims to mobilise capital at scale for the transition and the sustainable development and finance goals of the UN and the G20.

Objectives

  • Showcase the GCBC beta platform to raise visibility of this new resource to support capacity building for financial institutions
  • Allow the audience to ‘experience’ the GCBC platform via an interactive demo.
  • Gather feedback on the GCBC Platform from the global capacity building community to shape its next iteration

Feedback & discussion

Discussion guided by Menti on a few key questions to gain feedback on the Platform, in line with the GCBC Platform Consultation e.g.

  • Do you have any recommendations about what would make the overall GCBC platform easier to use?
  • What are key topics you believe would be most useful to find resources on?
  • What types of ‘events’ would you most like to see on the Platform? i.e. Online vs. in person; Training vs. Conferences etc.
  • What other specific features or content do you think could improve the platform?
  • What are the most important activities the GCBC could undertake to improve the global capacity-building ecosystem? E.g.
    • Grants to develop capacity building where there are resource gaps
    • Matchmaking capabilities for capacity building / TA providers + users or funders
    • Expand the target audience (and associated resources)
  • What would you recommend the GCBC do to improve the global capacity-building ecosystem?
