By PCCB Network
November, 2020

In this episode of Capacity-building Stories, the Sustainable Scotland Network(SSN) is in the spotlight.
SSN is Scotland’s public sector sustainability and climate change network focused on accelerating public sector action towards net zero emissions targets. Members of this network are all major public sector bodies, including local authorities, National Health Service, universities and colleges, as well as interested experts on the topics of adaptation and mitigation to climate change. Kate Dapre, the Chair of SSN and George Tarvit, the Director of the SSN secretariat sat down with us to answer a few questions about their capacity-building efforts, activities, and vision in Scotland.

Capacity-building Stories 2

By PCCB Network
September, 2020

"The second Capacity-building Story from the PCCB Network is about a successful series of capacity-building regional workshops: Capacity-building Knowledge to Action Days. Started in the UNFCCC regional climate weeks in the Latin American and the Caribbean and Asia-Pacific in 2019, this series was concluded last week with a virtual event in the African region. These workshops aimed at identifying existing gaps and potential solutions for the development of policy-relevant climate knowledge and the translation of it to climate action through fostering cross-stakeholder collaborations. To celebrate the conclusion of this series, Daniel Morchain from the National Adaptation Plan Global Network gave us a glimpse into this event series, joined by other members of the PCCB Network present in the Africa workshop: colleagues from Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC). With this story, we hope to share the lessons learned from the process, some highlights of discussions, and some food for thought to inspire future dialogues and actions."
