On 30 April 2018, Poland nominated Mr. Michał Kurtyka, State Secretary in the Ministry of Energy in Poland, to serve as the President of COP 24. The President-designate attended the Bureau meeting on 28 April, 2018 and the sessions of the subsidiary bodies in Bonn in May. He has since actively reached out to Parties and Groups of Parties. The President-designate will attend the upcoming Bangkok session and continue engaging with all stakeholders to ensure that the Conference in December succeeds in fully operationalizing the Paris Agreement and furthering the implementation of the Convention and the Protocol.
