In the UN4NAPs Event during the Africa Climate Week, which will be held from 4 to 8 September 2023, in Nairobi, Kenya, country representatives from the African region, with a special focus on least developed countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), are invited to share and discuss their technical assistance needs related to NAP formulation and implementation that can be addressed by one or several of the more than 45 active partner organizations.
Through its network of partners from across the UN and beyond, UN4NAPs is able to identify opportunities for technical assistance from a set of organizations, thus able to convene expertise from a set of relevant agencies, tailored to the needs of countries.
The UN4NAPs event focuses on capacity-building, emerging as one of the key needs for technical assistance expressed by the countries from the region towards the UN4NAPs initiative.
In addition, bilateral meetings with country representatives and UN4NAPs partner organizations, upon request, will be held to facilitate technical assistance as a response to ongoing requests by countries and to concretize the collaboration. This may include meetings in a hybrid format, to allow countries to tap into the expertise of the UN system and its partners in the most effective way.
Africa Climate Week
The event is organized within the Africa Climate Week (ACW) 2023, which will discuss climate solutions ahead of COP 28. More information about the ACW 2023 is available at https://unfccc.int/ACW2023.
