- continue ensuring the incorporation of gender in a systematic manner across its activities.

- invite AC members to provide additional written inputs to the concept note until 23 May 2025;

- continue considering how to involve external experts and organizations in order to enhance the quality of the online resource;
- present the current online resource (as updated in 2022) at the 2025 NAP Expo, and seek feedback from participants on how it could be improved with a view to taking this information into account at AC 28;
- request the secretariat to prepare a zero draft of the 2025 update, including placeholders on feedback from the NAP task force and the NAP Expo session, for consideration by the AC at its 28th meeting.

The AC continued the consideration of the updated draft strategy paper on how to respond to the mandate included in decision 2/CMA.5, paragraph 44 and decided to request the secretariat to
- publish a user-friendly version of the mapping of technical guidance and training material received through various sources such as the surveys, from constituted bodies and from other stakeholders;
- prepare an updated draft strategy paper based on the inputs received at AC 27;
- invite other adaptation-related constituted bodies to provide further inputs to the draft strategy paper intersessionally.

10. Recommendations on how to improve reporting on adaptation action and progress (in collaboration with the CGE and LEG)

The AC reflected on the initial mapping and analysis of existing adaptation reporting requirements, guidelines and practices included in the information note prepared for this item and requested the secretariat to include options for next steps and a draft timeline to arrive at agreed recommendations for its consideration at AC 28.
The AC agreed that a working group on this matter will advance work intersessionally. The working group will invite representatives of the CGE and the LEG to contribute to its work.

11. State of Adaptation Action by Parties

Summary outcome
The AC considered the concept note for regular synthesis reports on the State of Adaptation Action by Parties and progress on completing the remaining profiles. Members engaged in discussions on the outline and periodicity of the synthesis report and agreed to publish the first report by the end of 2026. Members also discussed resource implications for the completion and maintenance of the online portal. Consideration of these items will continue intersessionally. Members took note that the portal currently contains 161 country profiles and that the final 37 profiles are being validated.

Summary outcome
The AC considered the advanced draft of the 2024 report on recognizing the adaptation efforts of developing country Parties in relation to institutional arrangements and stakeholder engagement and agreed to publish the report subject to amendments as guided by the AC.
The AC also considered possible themes for the 2026 synthesis report as proposed in the concept note for this item and considered merging options 3 (Strengthening reporting and data systems for adaptation) and 4 (Advancing adaptation through science, education, and technology collaboration) and additional considerations. It further agreed to refine the theme intersessionally and to request the secretariat to prepare an annotated outline for the AC’s consideration at its 28th meeting.

The AC took note of the AC’s communication strategy and plan for 2025–2026 and of suggestions to continue improving the strategy, subject to the availability of resources, particularly by
- expanding its use of social media outlets and exploring new channels and features;
- exploring the idea of establishing an AC mailing list;
- producing short and targeted outreach products;
- exploring avenues to better reach the diversity of stakeholders, particularly practitioners on the ground and youth, including through the translation of the AC’s knowledge products and working through champions;
- engaging with organizations and networks which can serve as amplifiers and assist in disseminating and communicating on the AC’s products and activities;
- translating the NAP task force Policy brief on Progress, good practices and lessons learned, challenges and opportunities in the application of traditional knowledge, knowledge of Indigenous Peoples and local knowledge systems in adaptation to Portuguese ahead of COP 30;
- hosting regional webinars on COP/CMA outcomes in collaboration with the secretariat.
The AC also acknowledged the improved structure and design of its webpages.

It requested the secretariat to revise the concept note, taking into account the inputs received at AC 27, for consideration by the AC at its 28th meeting. It agreed to conduct the Forum for three days and in a hybrid format.

15. (e) Advice to the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change

The AC took note of an oral update from the secretariat on the status of the implementation of the AC’s advice to the NWP, as well as on past and planned activities on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, and agreed to consider further engagement with the NWP and its partner organizations in the context of its 2025–2027 workplan activities.

16. Organization of intersessional work

- establish a new AC working group to advance the preparations for the Adaptation Forum; and
- revise the title of the “Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA)” working group to “Global Goal on Adaptation (para 44 and para 45 of decision 2/CMA.5)”.
Furthermore, the AC invited members to join working groups of interest intersessionally.
The AC requested the secretariat to express interest to participate in the in-session workshop on “facilitating the design of the new gender action plan activities” at SB 62.
