UN Global Climate Action Awards at COP25

The United Nations Global Climate Action Awards are spearheaded by UN Climate Change’s Momentum for Change initiative and showcase some of the most practical and replicable examples of what people across the globe are doing to address climate change.

In 2019, fifteen game-changing initiatives from more than twenty countries have been announced as the winners of the prestigious UN Global Climate Action Awards. These climate solutions fall within the Award’s four focus areas: Planetary Health, Climate Neutral Now, Women for Results, and Financing for Climate Friendly Investment.

Each of these award-winning projects will be recognised at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 25) hosted by the Chilean Government in Madrid. This recognition programme will take place during the second week of the conference, through a series of special events and an awards ceremony.

The UN Global Climate Action Awards are implemented with the support of The Rockefeller Foundation, and operates in partnership with the World Economic Forum Global Project on Climate Change, Iberdrola, Climate Neutral Now, and donors supporting the implementation of the UNFCCC Gender Action Plan.
