Third global dialogue and investment-focused event (Decision 4/CMA.4, para 8 and 11) under the Sharm el-Sheikh Mitigation Ambition and Implementation Work Programme (MWP) will take place from 27 to 29 May, 2024 in Bonn, Germany.

Bus services

Bus line SB60 services the 25-kilometre stretch between Cologne/Bonn Airport and Bonn’s main railway station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. The bus leaves every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 30–60 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays. For exact timetables please visit the SWB website.

A one-way ticket costs approximately EUR 9.70.

Hotel bookings made online include a pass for free local public transport, including from and to Cologne/Bonn Airport.

No catering or meals will be provided at the event.

Code of Conduct

The UNFCCC is committed to upholding the fundamental human rights, dignity and worth of the human person, and equal human rights of all participants in a UNFCCC event. UNFCCC events are guided by the highest ethical and professional standards, and all participants are expected to act with integrity and respect towards all participants.

Harassment in any form, including sexual harassment, will not be tolerated. All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner and familiarize themselves with the Code of Conduct and other guidelines, including, but not limited to the following:

The Code of Conduct contains detailed information on prohibited conduct, complaint and investigation processes as well as possible consequences in case of misbehaviour.

Any incident that infringes on the Code of Conduct guidelines should be reported either directly to any badged UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) officer or by calling the United Nations Security Control Centre, which is open 24 hours a day. The phone number will be provided in due course. Incidents may also be reported to SpeakUp@unfccc.int.

DSA disbursement for delegates from Parties eligible for funding will be arranged at the event venue (AMERON Bonn Hotel Königshof, Adenauerallee 9, 53111 Bonn) in the afternoon of 27 May 2024.Exact arrangements will be shared on the day.
Please bring your passport, electronic flight ticket confirmation and boarding pass(es) to avoid delay of your DSA payment. 

For participants receiving DSA through pre-paid bank cards, DSA payment will be arranged at the venue. 
Pre-paid bank card will be issued in USD. The card will have the following features:

  • Can be loaded and reused throughout their 3 year validity
  • Can be used as a normal Mastercard/Visa
  • Cash can be withdrawn
  • Can be used in Shops/Hotels to pay as with other cards

Participants can also deal with the provider (Swiss Bankers) directly for balance enquiries, funds transfers etc. 

***IMPORTANT***: Participants who already hold a Swiss Bankers Card should bring it with them to receive payments. If a delegate is found in the Swiss Bankers system as a valid card holder, they might not be paid onto a new card unless their present card is declared damaged or lost. In case you own several Swiss Bank Cards, ensure that you bring the card for which you provided the number in your funding request.

Cards will be charged within about 24 hours after collection.


*Note on travel for participants funded by UNFCCC secretariat: Any changes made to the date of departure and/or arrival may incur a fee. Changes for private reasons are to be paid by the traveler.  The UNFCCC secretariat will not be responsible for costs associated with any changes you may wish to make to your ticket, for example upgrading, re-routing or stop-overs.

Non-smoking policy

Smoking is not allowed inside the venue. Designated smoking areas are available outside the venue.

The third global dialogue and third investment-focused event will only be accessible to duly nominated and registered participants.

Upon arrival at the venue for the first time, participants are requested to proceed to the registration desk to collect badges for access to the meeting rooms.

Visas

All foreign delegates entering Germany must have a valid passport.

Participants requiring a visa are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate consular authorities as soon as possible. The issuance of a visa for Schengen States may take up to two weeks from the date of submission of the visa application. To facilitate the issuance of a visa, a copy of the acknowledgment letter from the online registration system must be attached to the visa application.

Participants are advised that obtaining a Schengen visa is contingent on the participant securing comprehensive insurance that covers their entire stay. If travelling more than once, it is recommended to obtain insurance that covers the period of all intended stays.

Participants should also indicate if a Schengen visa has been issued to them in the last 59 months.
