The Renewable Electricity supported development of 1100 megawatts of renewable electricity capacity to be connected to the Alberta grid system by 2021. The program was run through a series of competitions in 2017 and 2018 to incentivise the development of renewable electricity generation through the purchase of renewable attributes. Estimate of mitigation impact in 2020 and 2030 is included in Large Emitter Greenhouse Gas Regulations impacts.

Creating regulatory framework and incentives for promotion of solar generation for own needs through amendments to the RA Law on Energy and to the RA Law on Energy Saving and Renewable Energy. Through this framework, customers are enabled to generate electricity from solar energy for own needs with a peak capacity of up to 500 kW without licensing, as well as to sell the excess generation to the grid (net metering). It is envisaged by the Strategy (up to 2040) that total installed capacities of autonomous producers will reach 100 MW by 2023.

In the short term (until 2030), introduction and diffusion of co-firing with 20% ammonia to thermal power is set as a goal. Therefore, in terms of technology, we will establish 20% co-firing technology by conducting a demonstration of 20% co-firing using actual equipment for four years from FY2021, and then aim to implement NOx-controlled co-firing burners in existing power plants and introduce fuel ammonia through electric power companies. In addition, the legal status of fuel ammonia is still unclear in relation to energy policy, as ammonia has never been envisioned for fuel use. While introducing and expanding the use of fuel ammonia, we will take measures to ensure that it is evaluated under the law through the realization of non-fossil values under the "Act on Advancement of Energy Supply Structure (Advancement Act)" and deducted from energy input when calculating power generation efficiency under the "Act on the Rational Use of Energy (Energy Conservation Act)".

Amsterdam city offered a subsidy scheme for the purchase of electric utility vehicles used frequently in the city. The scheme ran until 1 October 2019 and the city government is currently considering whether a new phase of the scheme will commence in 1 December 2019. The subsidy amounts (maximum 5 vehicles per company) for 2019 were: 5,000 euros for an electric business car, 5,000 euros for an electric delivery or taxi van, 3,000 euros for an electric standard size taxi and 20 percent of the purchase value (up to a maximum of 40,000 euros) of an electric truck and bus. There is also an additional subsidy scheme of 5,500 euros for the purchase of a new 100 percent electric delivery van for entrepreneurs who drive at least 3 times a week in the city. This arrangement is in addition to the existing subsidy for electric delivery vans; business drivers who meet all conditions receive 10,500 euros. An entrepreneur can receive a maximum of 2 new electric delivery vans under the programme

In Austria, electricity from renewable sources is supported mainly through a feed-in tariff. Since 2002, the Green Electricity Act (Ökostromgesetz) is the legal framework for renewable energy support. Feed-in tariffs are annually adjusted and published in the Eco Electricity Ordinance (Ökostromverordnung). Contracts for wind energy, solar PV, landfill and sewage gas and geothermal energy last 13 years, while the rest (biomass and other biogas) are paid over 15 years. No use is made of any other instruments, such as quotas or certificates in the electricity sector. Tariffs depend on size and date of proposal for permission (Antragstellung). There is a special annual reduction in the feed-in tariff for photovoltaic systems. Unless new tariffs are set, the feed-in tariff is reduced by 1% per annum for all other technologies.

The Bruxell'Air premium aims at encouraging Brussels drivers to give up their cars in favor of more environmentally friendly means of transport: public transport, cycling, walking and carsharing.For a returned car, citizens can receive a one-year free public transport abonment or a one-year free abonment to a car-sharing platform. A recast of the Bruxell'Air premium is envisaged by the NECP.

This project has been establisehd to encourage the development of renewable energies including a study on tariffs for the purchase of the surplus with the support of the ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) and GIZ. This project was in collaboration with the Senegalese Electricity Regulatory Commission (CRSE) to calculate and establish the payment that distributed renewable energy projects in the country receive for injecting their surplus electricity generation into the grid. According to the methodology of the efficient production tariff, the tariffs for the purchase of the surplus self-production, for photovoltaic solar power at Low Voltage and Medium Voltage, and biogas at Medium Voltage, are fixed.

A fleet of vehicles is accessible to the public for sharing, made up of 150 vehicles and priority parking spaces spread around Malta.

Carbon tax is paid for consumption of fossil fuels and the incineration of combustible organic substances and charged proportionally to the units of CO2 emissions caused by fuel use or combustible organic substances burnt. The following fuels and uses are exempted from tax payment: biomass use; gaseous fuels, liquid petrol gas and kerosene used as a propellant. Measure is in force from year 1997, and was changed several times in order to complement the other policy measures in the best way. The tax was revised as a response to introduction of auctioning system in the EU-ETS, to avoid double payment for carbon dioxide emissions, for installations in EU-ETS –from 2010 energy intensive industry is exempt from the tax payments (under certain conditions related to monitoring of energy use). The tax level is changed over time in order to support fulfilment of national emission reduction targets. The Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning imposed that the equivalent measure for excluded installations from EU ETS the payment of environmental tax due to CO2 (CO2 tax), taking into account that the respective tax is not paid to the level of free-granted emission allowance. If the average price of allowances is more than 30% higher than the environmental tax, the operator must pay the environmental tax in the amount of the average price of allowances. These excluded installations are the small installations with emissions less than 25,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent with a rated thermal input power of 35MW during combustion without emissions from biomass in each of the previous three years prior to the next period (2016-2018 for 2021-2025 period). The unit of air pollution with CO2 emission remains €17.3 per ton of CO2e. It is planned that CO2 tax will increase (atleast 5% per year) and approach the ETS coupon price by 2030.

The Climate and Energy Fund was established based on the Act on the Climate and Energy Fund (Klima- und Energiefondsgesetz) in July 2007. It supports the Federal Government in its efforts to implement sustainable energy supply, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and implement the climate strategy, and has evolved into a major driving force behind Austria's climate policy. A promotion volume of up to EUR 150 million is available to the Climate Fund for climate protection projects and for sustainable energy supply each year. With this money, the Climate Fund boosts innovative projects and awards contracts, all of which make a significant contribution towards an eco-friendly and energy-saving future. Two key criteria in this context are efficiency and sustainability.

This Contribution towards building a green economy in Armenia by supporting the investments in green technology, especially in climate adaptation and mitigation technologies.

Offers Contracts for Difference (CfDs) in the electricity generation market for low carbon and renewable sources, CfDs will replace ROCs (which are due to be phased out to new capacity from 2017). Current policy offers CfD for new capacity through auctions should Government’s choose to hold them. There is also a bilateral negotiation underway for Hinkley point C Nuclear plant.

renewable electricity generation from plants up to 100 kW (30 kW in case of PV or 10 MW in case of hydro power) is supported through a feed-in tariff. Plant operators may choose between a guaranteed feed-in tariff and a green bonus paid on top of the regular electricity price achieved in the market (see also “Premium Tariff”). Every electricity producer may make this choice once a year, i.e. on 1 January for a respective year (§ 8 par. 2 Act No. 165/2012). Responsible for the payment of the feed-in tariffs are the “mandatory purchasers” selected by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. To be able to enforce their claim for the feed-in tariff, plant operators are obliged to conclude an agreement with the grid operator.

Denmark promotes renewable electricity generation through a premium tariff as decided in the Decree on the Promotion of Renewable Energy Act. Under this policy, plant operators receive a variable bonus on top of the market price. The sum of the bonus and the market price shall not exceed a certain statutory maximum, which depends on the date of connection of a given plant and the source of energy used. In certain cases, plant operators are granted a guaranteed bonus on top of the market price. In such cases the maximum is not defined by law.
