Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) refers to the process of collecting and analyzing information to inform decision-makers and stakeholders on the progress of planned, ongoing, or completed projects. M&E is critical to capacity building, allowing practitioners to analyse the success of a project and receive information on its effects and outcomes.
It enables decision-makers to modify a project to better suit community needs, increases transparency, and provides recommendations to improve planning and implementation. M&E is fundamental to determining the extent to which projects have achieved the intended goals and informing the design of future programmes.
