The secretariat conducts simplified reviews for Annex I Party’s national inventory reports submitted in a year in which a biennial transparency report is not due under the Paris Agreement, in line with paragraph 42 of decision 1/CP.24 and paragraphs 155 and 161 of the annex to decision 18/CMA.1. 

Simplified reviews conducted in 2025 follow the procedures developed by lead reviewers of biennial transparency reports in accordance with the decisions at their first meeting.  

The secretariat publishes the final initial assessment (simplified review report) on the UNFCCC website upon receipt of comments by each Party.
