COP 30 Announcements and useful information

Opening of the Conference 

The opening of COP 30/CMP 20/CMA 7 will be held on Monday, 10 November 2025 and will be attended by His Excellency Mr. Mukhtar Babayev, President of COP 29/CMP 17/CMA 6, His Excellency Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, President-designate of COP 30/CMP 20/CMA 7 and Mr. Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. 

The opening will be held in Plenary Amazonas and will begin at 11.00 hrs. Participants are asked to take their seats by 10:30 hrs. in Plenary Amazonas to ensure that the sessions can open promptly. 

No tickets or secondary badges are needed to attend the opening of the Conference.  

Parties are guaranteed four seats per delegation. UN organizations and IGOs are guaranteed two seats per delegation. 

The opening of the Conference can also be viewed on IPTV screens and public webcast. Please follow IPTV daily meeting schedule for updated information. 

Please be advised that security and fire regulations do not permit participants to stand, and security will enforce this requirement. 

Audio-visual recordings 

Please note that making any kind of audio-visual recordings during open or closed official meetings is not permitted to conference participants.

Submission of credentials 

Parties are reminded that the credentials of representatives of Parties, as well as the names of alternate representatives and advisers, shall be submitted to the secretariat no later than 24 hours after the opening of COP 30/CMP 20/CMA 7. Parties are also reminded that in accordance with decisions 17/CP.9, 36/CMP.1 and 2/CMA.1, only one set of credentials is necessary to cover the participation of Parties in COP 30, CMP 20 and CMA 7.  

Original credentials, duly signed using blue ink, and written in one of the six official languages of the United Nations, should be deposited during COP 30, CMP 20 and CMA 7 at the External Relations Office, in the conference venue. To ensure proper handling and delivery to the repository, no other office or authority of the secretariat or the host country has been designated to receive credentials.  

To acknowledge receipt of credentials, the badge of the delegate delivering the credentials will be scanned as confirmation of receipt of the document. A list of valid credentials will be posted on the UNFCCC COP 30 web page.

Official protocol for mild COVID-19 cases 

The host country has published the current protocol in cases of mild COVID-19 infections with recommendations for the isolation of immunocompetent patients with flu-like syndrome caused by Covid-19 (non-severe cases). 

Immunocompetent Patients with Flu-like Syndrome Due to COVID-19 (Mild Cases) 
Time since symptom onset 5 full days 7 full days  10 full days 
Health condition  On the 5th full day*, if the case is WITHOUT respiratory symptoms, without fever, without use of antipyretic medication, and for at least 24 hours. On the 7th full day*, if the case is WITHOUT respiratory symptoms, without fever, without use of antipyretic medication, and for at least 24 hours. On the 10th full day, if the case is WITHOUT respiratory symptoms, without fever, without use of antipyretic medication, and for at least 24 hours. 
Testing  Testing on the 5th day with RT-PCR or rapid antigen test (Ag-RDT) Testing is not required to end isolation.  Testing is not required to end isolation. 
Result  If negative: may leave isolation after 5 full days and maintain additional precautions until the 10th full day since symptom onset**. If positive: continue isolation until completing 10 full days.  May leave isolation after 7 full days and maintain additional precautions until the 10th full day since symptom onset** End isolation on the 10th full day from symptom onset and maintain prevention and control measures***.

*Full day: Day 0 is the day symptoms begin, and Day 1 is the first full day (24 hours) after symptom onset, and so on. 

**Additional measures to be adopted until the 10th full day from symptom onset for cases ending isolation from the 5th day: 

  • Wear a well-fitted mask, preferably surgical or PFF2/N95, at home and in public. 
  • Avoid contact with immunocompromised individuals or those with risk factors for severe COVID-19, as well as crowded places such as public transportation or any setting where physical distancing cannot be maintained. 
  • Avoid going to places where wearing a mask at all times is not possible, such as restaurants and bars. 
  • Avoid eating near other people, both at home and at work. 
  • Avoid traveling during this period.

Attention: 

  • If these individuals are unable to wear a mask when around others, isolation should last for 10 full days after symptom onset. 
  • Self-administered rapid antigen tests are not recommended for the purpose of reducing the isolation period.

Welcome Pack for COP 30 

All participants are invited to collect their COP 30 water bottle at the Distribution Counter, located in the Service Hub, Area D on (Monday, 10 to Friday, 21 November 2025) from 08:00 hrs. to 18:00 hrs. 

Distribution Counter Operating Hours 

Pre-sessional (Tuesday, 4 to Sunday, 9 November 2025): 09:00 to 17:00 

Zero tolerance towards harassment 

Please be reminded that all COP 30 participants are expected to follow the Code of Conduct

The UN Climate Change secretariat and the COP 30 organizers will apply a zero-tolerance approach to any form of harassment, including sexual harassment, and will deal with such complaints promptly. 

We encourage reporting of any incident either directly to any badged UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) officer or by calling the United Nations Security Control Centre, which is open 24 hours a day at +55  279 990 73867. You may also report an incident to SpeakUp@unfccc.int at any time.

Operating hours 

The COP 30 venue will be accessible for participants from Monday, 10 November through Friday, 21 November 2025 from 7:00 to 22:00, with specific operational times as detailed below. Please note that Sunday, 16 November is a tentative day off to be confirmed at a closer date. 

Registration and Accreditation: 8:00 to 19:00 

Information & Services Hub: 8:00 to 16:00 with specific services till 19:00 

DSA office: 9:00 to 17:00   

Meeting Rooms 

  • Coordination meetings: 8:00 to 10:00 and 18:00 to 20:00  
  • Negotiation meetings: 10:00 to 18:00 
  • Meeting room assignment counter: 08:00 to 18:00 

Special and Side Events rooms: 08:00 to 20:00 

Pavilions and Delegation Offices   

  • Pavilions: 8:00 to22:00, Pavilions owners are free to close earlier if so wished 
  • Delegation offices:  24/7 – with limited services after 22:00   

Media Centre/International Broadcast Centre: operates 24/7 with reduced services after 22:00. Media representatives, who require staying in or access the venue between 21:00 to 06:00 hours, are to inform the UNFCCC IBC Manager by 18:00 hours of the same day.

Election of officers of bodies under the Convention and the Protocol 

Please consult the UNFCCC elections webpage for latest information on election procedures and daily updates of election nominations and election results. 

Free wireless Internet 

Please connect to network “PlugNPlay” to access the free wireless Internet on the conference premises. Please report any issues to the ICT customer support staff located at the computer centre or look for support staff who are easily identifiable by blue vests marked “ICT SUPPORT”. 

List of participants 

The provisional list of registered participants will be available on Monday, 10 November 2025. National focal points and designated contact persons should make corrections using the Online Registration System (ORS) by Thursday, 20 November 2025, at the latest. The final list of participants will be published after the closure of the conference. 

Medical and security emergencies 

First aid services are available from 10 to 21 November 2025. There are three First Aid rooms distributed throughout the Blue Zone as indicated on the venue map. First Aid room C (located in Area C, Hangar), First Aid room D (located in Area D, outside of Meeting Room 4), and First Aid room E (located in Area E near Plenary 1).

UN Climate Change app 

Conceived as a one-stop shop, the UN Climate Change App offers the latest news about the Climate Change process, along with access to live webcasts of sessions and press conferences. Official documents and agendas, and schedule of meetings are also accessible with just a few clicks. 

The App is available in the Google (Android) and iTunes (IOS) stores (smartphone or tablet) and is a great way to follow international climate action at any time and especially now prior and during COP 30.
