The Conference of the Parties, by its decisions 19/CP.7 and 24/CP.8, requested the Chair of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice, with the assistance of the secretariat, to convene intersessional consultations with Parties and experts on registry systems (national registries, the clean development mechanism registry and the international transaction log). This report on the intersessional consultations, held on 8–10 November 2004 in Bonn, Germany, gives
information on:
(a) Progress on the development of registries
(b) The conformity of the functional and technical specifications with the general design requirements of the data exchange standards, as contained in decision 24/CP.8
(c) Possible modalities for the cooperation among registry system administrators
(d) Possible modalities for the activities of the ITL administrator.
