ACE: Advancing Climate Transparency

The secretariat hosted a virtual information session on 21 October 2024 and presented key information from the ACE annual summary report, ACE negotiations, ACE events and various children and youth focused events happening at COP 29.

This event responds to the Glasgow work programme on ACE (GWP) adopted at COP26, which promotes policy coherence and international cooperation by inviting the Presidencies, with the support of the secretariat, to convene an in-session event to be held at each session of the COP and CMA, focused on a thematic area relevant to the Convention and the Paris Agreement.

This year, the ACE Presidency Event will focus on “Advancing Climate Transparency: Opportunities through Action for Climate Empowerment.”

Leyla Hasanova, COP29 Presidency Youth Climate Champion

Organized by the COP 29 Presidency, supported by the secretariat and in collaboration with YOUNGO, hosted a series of thematic-focused dialogue sessions from 13 - 16 November 2024 as part of the overall Youth-led Climate Forum. The 5 thematic-focused dialogue sessions allowed children and youth to share and discuss policy priorities directly with decision-makers covering critical topics like:

The thematic sessions were preceded by a headline event on the 18th of November 2024 as part of the COP 29 Human Development / Children and Youth / Health / Education Thematic Day. The Youth-led Climate Forum Headline Event on 18 November synthesized priorities, outcomes and next steps from the dialogues, integrating insights from the Global Youth Statement.
