The venue is easily accessible for visitors with mobility difficulties and accessibility needs. All meeting rooms will be accessible.

Participants are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements and are free to book accommodation of their own choice.

The Yeosu Expo Convention Center, the Yeosu Venezia and Shilla Stay Hotels have Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) available.

There is a range of catering options available near the venue, including restaurants and cafés, which can be found here.

Food and beverages are not permitted inside any of the meeting rooms.

Delegates from Parties eligible for funding may collect their Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) at the designated DSA offices located at the Yeosu Expo Convention Center. Further details on the disbursement process are provided on-site.

Procedure

1. Register with the UNFCCC Finance Team at the DSA office.
2. Upon verification, a DSA card will be issued or credited (for returning participants).

DSA is disbursed via Mastercard debit cards, which may be used at ATMs and point-of-sale terminals worldwide where Mastercard is accepted.

Climate and Weather

In April, Yeosu experiences mild spring weather, with daytime temperatures ranging from 16°C to 20°C (61°F -68°F) and nighttime temperatures between 9°C–11°C (47°F–52°F). While April is not part of the peak rainy season, occasional rainfall can be expected. Participants are advised to bring light layers and a compact umbrella.

Currency

The official currency of the Republic Korea is the South Korean Won (KRW). Foreign currency can be exchanged at authorized banks and licensed foreign exchange bureau during standard banking hours (typically 09:00-16:00 hrs, Monday to Friday). 

Credit and Debit Cards

Credit and debit cards are widely accepted throughout Korea. Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) are also readily available for cash withdrawals. While Korea is a highly digital society, it is advisable to carry some cash for use in small shops, traditional markets, and certain local transportation services.

Electricity

The standard electricity supply in Korea is 220 volts at 60Hz.  The most commonly used plug types are:

• Type F (two round pins with earth clips on side)
• Type C (two round pins)

Visitors from countries using 110–120 volts (e.g. the United States) will require a plug adapter and may also need a voltage converter depending on their devices.

Telephone and Connectivity

The international dialing code for the Republic of Korea is +82. Yeosu has extensive mobile network coverage provided by major carriers such as SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+. Mobile services are reliable, and both local SIM cards and eSIM options are widely available for visitors.

The United Nations and the UNFCCC secretariat disclaim all responsibility for medical, accident and travel insurance, for compensation for death or disability, for loss of or damage to personal property and for any other costs or losses that may be incurred during travel or the period of participation at the conference including pre-sessional meetings.

In the interests of the security and safety of all participants and the smooth running of the sessions, the UNFCCC secretariat reserves the right to deny and/or restrict access to the conference premises, or to request participants to leave the premises. The UNFCCC secretariat shall not be responsible for any expenses incurred by participants who are requested to leave the premises or refused registration or access to the sessions for which they have been nominated and/or registered as participants.

Non-smoking policy

To promote a healthy environment and to eliminate the risks associated with second-hand smoke inhalation, smoking indoors is strictly prohibited and smoking in the vicinity of buildings is highly discouraged. This includes the use of vapers and electronic cigarettes. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available.

Media accreditation is required for all media representatives who wish to cover the CW3.

You will be required to present a letter of assignment which meets the following criteria: 

• The letter must be on your organization’s official letterhead. 
• It must be from your supervisor addressed to the UN Climate Change Press Office. 
• It must specify which meeting is to be covered and on what dates. 
• It must provide links to your organization's website. 
• It must state that you are assigned to cover the event, together with your full name and position 
• It must explain which the type of coverage is planned (news reporting, photo, video, documentary, etc.) 
• It must be signed by your supervisor. 
• It must contain contact information for your supervisor (email or phone number).  

If your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email. 
Badges will be issued in the registration area of the venue on the first day of the conference.

Media accreditation is strictly reserved for media professionals (print, photo, radio, television, film, news agencies and online media) who represent a bona fide media organization formally registered as a media organization in a country recognized by the United Nations General Assembly.

Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. The UN Climate Change secretariat reserves the right to deny or withdraw accreditation of journalists from media organizations whose activities run counter to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, or who abuse the privileges so extended or put the accreditation to improper use or act in a way not consistent with the principles of the Organization.

The secretariat does not accept accreditations requests via any other channel (e-mail, post, etc.).  Any accreditation materials not sent through the INDICO UN online system will not be processed.

Once nominated, participants will receive an email with a link to complete their registration via Indico.UN. Logistical information related to travel and participation will be communicated directly to registered participants.

To facilitate timely arrangements, the secretariat may not be able to process nominations requiring funding support received after 25 March 2026, 23:59 (CEST).

Meeting Badge Collection

Upon first arrival at the venue, participants are requested to proceed to the registration desk located in the lobby of Building C (main entrance to the Climate Week premises) at the Yeosu Expo Convention Centre to collect their conference badge.

For subsequent visits, participants in possession of a valid badge may access the venue directly without returning to the registration desk.

Implementation Forum

The Implementation Forum of the Climate Week is convened from Thursday, 23 April to Friday, 24 April 2026. For more information and registration process, please follow the link here.

Attendance for Implementation Forum is limited to the sessions on Thursday, 23 April, and Friday, 24 April. To ensure a smooth badge issuance process, we advise Implementing Forum participants to collect their badges starting Wednesday, 22 April, 11:00 AM. 

Participants are encouraged to print and photocopy only what is absolutely necessary prior to and during the sessions.

Participants are asked to refrain from distributing any printed materials, such as publications and information related to side events, other meetings, or future conferences. Any dissemination of information should be done electronically.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, as water refilling stations will be available at the venue.

Participants attending the Third Climate Week in Yeosu are responsible for arranging their own travel, unless their participation is funded by the UNFCCC secretariat. Funded participants will receive detailed travel information upon confirmation of their funding.

The main port of entry is the Incheon International Airport (ICN).

The following transport options are available for onward travel to Yeosu:

By Train (KORAIL KTX)

• From the Incheon Airport, take an express train or subway to the Seoul Station (approximately 43 minutes), then continue by KTX to the Yeosu-Expo Station (approximately 3 hours 20 minutes).
• Alternatively, take a taxi or bus from the Incheon Airport to the Gwangmyeong Station (approximately 40 minutes), then take a KTX train to the Yeosu-Expo Station (approximately 2 hours 50 minutes).

By Air

• Travel from the Incheon Airport to the Gimpo Airport (GMP) by subway (approximately 37 minutes), then take a domestic flight to the Yeosu Airport (RSU) (approximately 1 hour).

By Shuttle Bus

• The Government of Korea is operating shuttle bus service between the Incheon Airport and Yeosu between. The service will be available on the main arrival dates on Sunday, 19 and Monday, 20 April, and on departure dates Friday, 24 and Saturday, 25 April 2026.
• The Government of the Republic of Korea is also operating shuttle services between the venue and several hotels in Yeosu.

Getting Around in Yeosu

Taxis are the most convenient way to get around Yeosu and are widely available throughout the city. Public transportation options, including buses, are also available.

The main conference venue is the Yeosu Expo Convention Centre, Expo Road, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, Republic of Korea. The main entrance to the premises is Building C, accessible from Expo Square, where the registration desk is also situated.

Please note that some Climate Week events will take place at nearby venues within walking distance of the Convention Centre, including Hotel Yeosu Venezia and Hotel Shilla Stay.

Overview of Visa and K-ETA 

Entry procedures to the Republic of Korea vary depending on the participant’s nationality and purpose of visit. 

The Republic of Korea has visa waiver agreements with more than 110 countries and regions, allowing nationals of certain countries to enter Korea without a visa for short-term visits. 

Visa 

A Visa is an official authorization issued by the Korean Embassy or Consulate General allowing a foreign national to enter the Republic of Korea. 

Participants attending international conferences generally apply for the following visa type:  

C-3-1 (Short-Term General Visa) 

• Purpose: Participation in conferences, seminars, forums, academic events  
• Period of Stay: Up to 90 days

Visa-Free Countries 

Nationals of countries that have visa waiver agreements with the Republic of Korea may enter Korea without a visa.

Countries Requiring a Visa 

Nationals of countries that do not have visa waiver agreements with Korea must obtain a visa from a Korean embassy or consulate prior to travel. If a visa has been issued, K-ETA is not required.

Visa Application Process 

Participants who require a visa should follow the steps below: 

• Step 1. Check visa requirements on the website of the Korean Embassy or Consulate 
• Step 2. Complete registration for the Climate Week through the UNFCCC   system 
• Step 3. Receive the UNFCCC Registration Acknowledgement Letter 
• Step 4. Prepare required documents and apply for a visa at the Korean Embassy or Consulate 
• Step 5. Await visa processing and approval before travel 

※ For registered participants of the Climate Week, visa application fees will be waived. However, this requires prior coordination with the Government of the Republic of Korea based on the list of registered participants. 

※ Participants from visa-required countries must complete their registration no later than 8 April 2026 in order to be included in the visa fee waiver process and ensure timely visa issuance.

Visa application procedures and required documents may vary depending on the applicant’s nationality, country of residence, and purpose of visit. 

Participants are advised to confirm the appropriate visa type and required documents prior to applying.

• Valid passport (with at least 6 months’ validity remaining) 
• One passport-size photo (3.5×4.5 cm, white background, JPG/JPEG/PNG format,

Additional documents may be requested at the discretion of the embassy or consulate, including:  

• Flight itinerary or hotel reservation  
• Certificate of employment or student certificate 
• Proof of financial support (bank statement, etc.)
• Certification of Business Registration (Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment - MCEE) 

Korean Embassies and Consulates 

Korean visas can be applied for at the Korean Embassy or Consulate General located in the applicant’s country of residence.

If There Is No Korean Diplomatic Mission in Your Country 

If there is no Korean embassy or consulate in your country, you may apply for a visa through the following options: 

1. Apply at the Korean diplomatic mission responsible for your jurisdiction 

You may apply at the Korean Embassy or Consulate General in a neighboring country that has jurisdiction over your country. Korean diplomatic missions have designated consular jurisdictions, and visa applications must be submitted to the appropriate mission responsible for your region. 

2. Apply at the Korean diplomatic mission in your country of residence 

If you reside in a country other than your country of nationality, you may apply for a visa at the Korean Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence. 

Korean Embassies and Consulates have been informed about the upcoming Climate Week in Yeosu. Visa processing may take up to five (5) working days under the current facilitation arrangements, provided that the process proceeds smoothly.

K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)

K-ETA is an electronic travel authorization system, not a visa, that allows eligible foreign nationals to obtain travel approval before entering the Republic of Korea without a visa.

※ Special Arrangement for Climate Week Participants

For registered participants of the Climate Week, K-ETA requirements will be waived. K-ETA exemptions will be processed centrally by the Government of the Republic of Korea based on the official list of registered participants provided by the UNFCCC secretariat.

Therefore, participants included in the submitted list will be registered in the system as exempt and are not required to apply for K-ETA individually.

Participants who are not included in the registered list at the time of processing may be required to obtain K-ETA individually.
