The AC requested the secretariat to advance its work on collecting case studies on the application of impact, vulnerability and risk assessments in different regions for consideration by the AC at AC 30 with a view to progressing towards a global overview of approaches and lessons.
It also requested the secretariat to conduct the work on the basis of inputs received from AC members during AC 29 and to use information from different sources, including the interactive portal on the State of Adaptation Action by Parties.
In addition, the AC requested the secretariat to take into account inputs from relevant external experts and entities, including through a call for inputs from relevant entities.

Update of the 2022 scope
The AC considered the update of the online resource on navigating the landscape of support in its 2022 scope and agreed to open the document for additional comments by AC members for two weeks following the closure of AC 29 with a view to making the updates to the online resource publicly available thereafter.
Next update
The AC also considered an advanced concept note on the next update of the online resource on navigating the landscape of support and agreed to request the secretariat to proceed with the implementation of phase I of the proposed modular approach on the basis of the guidance provided at AC 29.
The AC requested the secretariat to develop a draft compilation of support for the AC’s consideration at AC 30 with a view to finalizing the first phase of the next update at AC 31.
The AC also agreed to include a disclaimer in the update of the online resource which would clarify that contents included from external entities do not imply endorsement or alignment by the AC.

The AC considered the revised concept note and agreed to open the document for additional comments by AC members for the two weeks following the closure of AC 29.
It requested the secretariat to revise the concept note based on the comments received from AC members and to share it with the NAP task force for inputs.
It further agreed to consider the final agenda, including guiding questions for the panelists, intersessionally, taking into account inputs received from the NAP task force.
It also agreed to request the secretariat to proceed with the organization of the dialogue, based on the agreed agenda and guiding questions.

Summary outcome:
The AC welcomed the contribution of the NAP Global Network (NAP GN) in the development of the 2024 MEL toolkit.
The AC considered the concept note on updating the MEL Toolkit and agreed to seek feedback from users of the toolkit through the means outlined in paragraph 8(a) of the concept note in collaboration with the NAP Global Network.
It requested the secretariat to revise the concept note, including the timeline and possible steps to update the MEL Toolkit, on the basis of the inputs provided at AC29, for the AC’s consideration at AC 31.

It requested the secretariat to produce another iteration of the recommendations, taking into account inputs by the CGE and LEG, for the AC’s intersessional consideration with a view to decide on the first set of recommendations at AC 30.
The AC also decided to reopen the call for the submission of inputs to this mandate with a deadline of 30 June 2026 with a view to considering any submissions received in further updating the concept note and the finalization of the first set of recommendations.

Summary outcome:
The AC considered the concept note for the 2026 synthesis report on the state of adaptation action by Parties and requested the secretariat to prepare a first draft of the report, taking into account inputs received at AC 29, for intersessional consideration by the established working group.
The AC agreed that the synthesis report will cover all adaptation actions undertaken by Parties, and the support provided and received, as available on the portal.
The AC also requested the secretariat to develop the final draft of the synthesis report for consideration at AC 30.
The AC agreed to consider whether to adopt the report as an input to GST II at AC 30.

Summary outcome:
The AC took note of the report on the implementation of its communications plan and strategy.
It agreed to enhance its efforts in making its products and communications available in all UN languages as well as in organizing events and activities at the regional level.
It also requested the secretariat to provide a report on the AC’s communication and outreach efforts, including the number and type of translated products, for the AC’s consideration at its next meeting.

The AC considered the preparation of the 2026 Adaptation Forum and provided guidance on its thematic focus and overall structure.
The AC requested the secretariat to explore opportunities for collaboration with external partners and relevant constituted bodies, including those working on technology and innovation.
The AC requested confirmation of the Forum’s venue and timing, and the development of a communication, outreach and participation plan to ensure broad and inclusive engagement.
The AC agreed to continue intersessional work on the Forum.

The AC took note of the information provided by other constituted bodies and agreed to continue strengthening collaboration, including on the implementation of mandates arising from COP 30 and CMA 7.
It emphasized the importance of ensuring effective engagement of all relevant bodies in delivering on these mandates in a coherent manner, with a view to promoting coherence and synergy in the delivery of the mandates.

The AC considered the revised draft guidelines for collaboration with external experts and organizations and agreed to open the draft for additional inputs by AC members for a period of two weeks after the closure of AC 29.
It also agreed to request the secretariat to produce a new iteration of the guidelines, on the basis of the inputs provided at AC 29, and with a view to making the guidelines available, after approval from the AC intersessionally.

The AC discussed the organization of its intersessional work and agreed on modalities related to the intersessional working groups.
The AC requested its Co-Chairs and the secretariat to prepare a document on modalities to enhance the efficiency of its intersessional work for consideration at AC 30.

The AC considered dates and venues for future meetings and requested the secretariat to share additional information on possible options for AC 30 for the AC’s intersessional consideration and agreement.
The AC agreed to conduct its 31st meeting from 6 to 9 April 2027 in Bonn, Germany.
