U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has issued a rallying call on World Meteorological Day for decision-makers and all actors in society to “face the future now” and respond to the challenge of climate change and so avert its worst impacts and “lay the foundations for a world of peace, prosperity and opportunity for all.” The theme of the 2016 World Meteorological Day, on 23 March, is Hotter, Drier, Wetter.
