Nomination and registration details
Parties are invited, through their national focal points for the UNFCCC, to nominate up to two participants for both the global dialogue and investment-focused event.
Parties eligible for funding from the secretariat are entitled to funding for one of their nominated participants for the duration of the global dialogue and the investment-focused event. This funding may be granted in addition to any support already received from the secretariat for participating in subsidiary body meetings.
Parties may nominate relevant participants to benefit from and contribute to the engagement on the topic for 2023, in national context. Participants may be nominated at the Parties’ discretion but could include representatives of government institutions involved in the energy, environment, climate change, planning, economic/investment development or finance sectors or key non-government actors. For those interested in following the global dialogue without participating actively, it will also be broadcast live.
*In view of the need to confirm the arrangements for the global dialogue and the investment-focused event as early as possible, nominations received after the deadline may not be processed.*
UPDATE ON VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION
The co-chairs of the work programme are pleased to extend active virtual participation to one additional nominee from each Party for the Global Dialogue and Investment-focused event. Kindly note, Party representatives participating in-person will be given priority for making interventions during the dialogue and event.
Virtual participants may be nominated at the Parties’ discretion but Parties may wish to nominate individuals who would benefit from engaging on the topics of the global dialogues for 2023, such as representatives of government institutions involved in the energy, environment, climate change, planning, economic/investment development or finance sectors or key non-government actors.
In case you have already shared with us your two nominees for the Global Dialogue and Investment-focused Event and would like to nominate an additional virtual participant for the dialogue and event, kindly respond to this email and send the details of your additional virtual participant as per the table below to mwp@unfccc.int by Monday, 22 May 2023.

We are pleased to inform you that funding is available to cover the cost of participation of one nominee from your country, including an economy air ticket and daily subsistence allowance for the duration of the global dialogue and investment-focused event in accordance with the United Nations standard practice. Travel registration details and information on funding arrangements will be shared with nominees directly. Please note, nominees are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements. The provisional agenda and further logistical and technical information will be made available shortly at https://unfccc.int/topics/mitigation/workstreams/mitigation-work-programme. Queries about the work programme or other matters relating to the global dialogue and the investment-focused event may be sent to mwp@unfccc.int.
