Background

Climate-related goals are increasingly focusing on land use and agriculture, yet to achieve these goals require major transformation to promote gender equality and social inclusion. Marginalized groups are more vulnerable to the effects of climate change, yet they possess knowledge which can contribute to climate solutions. National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) indicate that countries are taking steps to promote gender equality and social inclusion, however more can be done.

Building on over seven years of joint collaboration on climate planning in agriculture through NDCs and NAPs, the PCCB Network in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), through funding from the International Climate Initiative (IKI) NAP-Ag and SCALA programmes, bring you this event focused on gender mainstreaming in budgeting and planning processes for the planning and implementation of agriculture-sector priorities.
