Concept
Imagine the buzz of COP30 negotiators, practitioners, youth, and partners gathered under one roof. Now imagine giving them the mic. Pitch Perfect: Building the Voice of Climate Action is a fast-paced, innovative pitch competition that blends capacity-building with entertainment.
Pitches are presented by Youth participants so come along to see how the youth of the world plans to tackle climate change!
Participants will have 5 minutes to pitch their idea, solution or call to action related to the 7th Capacity-building Hub thematic days. Three expert mentors will watch the pitches and provide feedback and mentoring to strengthen their communication skills, learning to deliver compelling, concise and impactful pitches they can use in real-world settings.
Meanwhile, the audience is not just watching, they are voting for their favorite pitch via an online platform, learning from the mentors’ tips and taking away practical advice to sharpen their own communication skills.
This interactive format also helps map innovative and creative solutions that address capacity gaps and emerging needs from around the world, amplify diverse voices, and create a space for meaningful exchange of ideas that inspire action far beyond COP30.
Objectives
- Identify gaps and source solutions: To surface and spotlight innovative, ground-truthed solutions that directly respond to identified capacity gaps, contributing actionable ideas to the COP30 Granary of Solutions.
- Build communication skills: Help participants master the art of elevator pitching.
- Foster creativity: Encourage innovative thinking on COP30 and the PCCB priority topics.
- Engage diverse audiences: Bring together negotiators, youth, practitioners and creatives in a dynamic, informal setting.
- Amplify voices: Film and share pitches on social media to inspire a global audience.
- Empower the audience: Turn spectators into participants by enabling them to vote, engage and learn actionable tips they can apply immediately in their own work.
