Description:

This expert meeting, hosted by the Adaptation Committee (AC), will convene representatives of Parties, the IPCC, organizations supporting work on adaptation communications (ADCOMs), and other stakeholders to discuss the AC’s draft supplementary guidance for voluntary use by Parties in communicating adaptation information. At the meeting, the AC will present the latest draft (to be published shortly) and invite experts to share their reflections and experiences to inform the revision and fine-tuning of the draft ahead of its finalization and approval by the AC for publication in June 2022.

This meeting builds on the webinar on ADCOMs hosted by the AC on 30 June 2021, which invited representatives of Parties and other stakeholders to share their feedback on an earlier draft of supplementary guidance and their experiences with preparing ADCOMs. At the webinar, the AC received from participants a wide variety of helpful insights and practical suggestions for improving the supplementary guidance;  this input is reflected in the latest draft.

The expert meeting was open to participation by all interested stakeholders. An on-demand recording is now available here
