This note provides information on the status of submission and review of fifth national communications (NC5s) under the Convention and its Kyoto Protocol from Parties included in Annex I to the Convention (Annex I Parties) as at 16 November 2012. The Conference of the Parties, by decision 10/CP.13, requested Annex I Parties to submit their NC5s by 1 January 2010, in accordance with Article 12, paragraphs 1 and 2, of the Convention. Decision 8/CMP.3 requested Annex I Parties that are also Parties to the Kyoto Protocol to include, in their NC5s, the necessary supplementary information required under the "Guidelines for reporting supplementary information under Article 7, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol" (contained in the annex to decision 15/CMP.1)
