Abstract

The second part of the intersessional workshop on element (b), strategies and modalities to scale up implementation of best practices, innovations and technologies that increase resilience and sustainable production in agricultural systems according to national circumstances, was held in three virtual and three in-person sessions in the pre-sessional period of the twenty-sixth session of the Conference of the Parties. Experts from Parties, international organizations, the private sector, research organizations, civil society and constituted bodies under the Convention as well as farmers presented experience and challenges and barriers in relation to modalities for scaling up implementation, and engaged in in-depth discussion on the potential, co-benefits and synergies, of different options for scaling up sustainable climate-resilient agricultural solutions. The workshop provided an opportunity to discuss options for increasing synergy and collaboration among stakeholders, while highlighting that farmers must be at the centre of all discussions and decision-making on climate change, agriculture, land and water management, and food security.
