The UN Climate Change Conference COP 25 (2 – 13 December 2019) took place under the Presidency of the Government of Chile and was held with logistical support from the Government of Spain. SBSTA 51/ SBI 51 took place 2-9 December 2019. The pre-sessional period was from 25 November - 1 December 2019. The President for the conference was Ms. Carolina Schmidt, Minister of Environment of Chile.

32 Countries Highlight Their Key Climate Actions During the May-June Session
UN Climate Change News, 24 June 2021– As part of the UN Climate Change subsidiary body sessions, which took place from 31 May to 17 June, 32 developed and developing country Parties took part in a series of online discussions to highlight key domestic actions to address climate change.

Spain's 🇪🇸 CO2 emissions fell below 1990 levels for the first time last year.
COVID-19 played a role, with electricity⚡ generation falling 3.6%.
But CO2 emissions fell a full 35% as #renewables jumped 13% and coal was partly phased out.
