The high-level segment at the twenty-fifth session of the Conference of the Parties, the fifteenth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, and the second session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (COP 25/CMP 15/CMA 2), was held from Tuesday, 10 to Wednesday, 11 December 2019.

Statement made at the opening ceremony of the high-level segment was delivered by Mr. Alejandro Sanz, Prominent guest, Mr. Petteri Taalas, Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization, Her Excellency Ms. Teresa Ribera, Minister of Environment of Spain, Ms. Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC, His Excellency Mr. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, President of the United Nations General Assembly and Her Excellency Ms. Carolina Schmidt, President of COP 25/CMP 15/CMA 2.

163 National Statements were delivered at the high-level segment, including from 1 President, 3 Prime Ministers, 2 Deputy Prime Ministers and 2 Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

The high-level segment also heard delivery of statements from 18 Intergovernmental Organizations, 9 Non-Governmental Organizations and 1 Faith Based Group.
