True-up period information report by the Secretariat

Decision 3/CMP.10 requested the secretariat to make available electronically on 30 September the following information for each Annex l Party with a commitment inscribed in Annex B of the Kyoto Protocol for the first commitment period:

Inventory data for each year of the commitment period;

Total emissions over the commitment period;

Total quantity of units held in Party holding accounts, cancellation accounts, and the retirement account.

The reported information shall also include the total quantity of aggregated holdings in the clean development mechanism (CDM) registry.

This information is provided in the tables below.

As the review process under Article 8 of the Kyoto Protocol for the last year of the first commitment period was completed on 10 July 2015 with the publication of the last annual review report (ARR), there is no need to report on the review processes remaining to be completed, as mandated by decision 3/CMP.10, paragraph 6.

This electronic report was updated on 28 October and finally on 25 November 2015 in accordance with paragraph 4 of decision 3/CMP.10.

^dThe Parties listed under the European Union were the 15 member States at the time of the deposit by the European Community of its instrument of approval of the Kyoto Protocol on 31 May 2002. The European Union clarified in the national inventory report (NIR) of its 2014 submission that the European Union inventory of GHG emissions covers the same geographical area as the inventories of the 15 EU member States for their respective EU territory. However, as indicated in the NIRs of some member States, the inventories of these member States that are used for compiling the European Union inventory differ from the inventories submitted by these Parties to the UNFCCC owing to the difference in the geographical coverage. As a result of this difference, the total GHG emissions from Annex A sources of the European Union as reflected above and included in the latest annual review report (ARR) of the European Union (18,822,263,095) is lower than the sum of the GHG emissions from Annex A sources of the individual member States (18,843,474,763). The quantity of Kyoto Protocol units displayed for the European Union (retirement, holding and cancellation accounts) is the sum of the quantity of units recorded in the 15 EU member States accounts and the quantity of units in the EU Community Registry accounts.

Note: The information regarding units held in Party's accounts is from 24 November (5 p.m.) owing to the time needed for aggregation and reporting.
