US $20 million fund to encourage clean energy investments in the Caribbean

The United States President Barack Obama met on Thursday with Caribbean leaders in a U.S.-CARICOM Summit in Kingston, Jamaica. The leaders’ discussion focused on the importance of improving energy security, reducing energy costs, and fighting climate change. President Obama announced the launch of a Clean Energy Finance Facility for the Caribbean and Central American (CEFF-CCA). The $20 million facility aims to encourage investment in clean energy projects.
