The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) now has 197 members following the formal entry of the State of Palestine.

This is in accordance with its article 23 (2) which reads as follows: “For each State or regional economic integration organization that ratifies, accepts or approves the Convention or accedes thereto after the deposit of the fiftieth instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession, the Convention shall enter into force on the ninetieth day after the date of deposit by such State or regional economic integration organization of its instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession.”

The State of Palestine deposited its instrument of accession to the Convention on 18 December 2015.
