Background
The IPCC’s Task Force on Inventories (TFI) is developing two important methodological reports that will significantly impact transparency reporting by Parties, National GHG Inventories, and Nationally Determined Contributions in the coming years. These reports are the Methodology Report on Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) and Carbon Dioxide Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), as well as the Methodology Report on Short-Lived Climate Forcers (SLCFs).

For many years, the IPCC TFI and its Technical Support Unit (TSU) in Japan have supported the work of the UNFCCC by producing several thematic reports, including the 2006 IPCC Guidelines, which serve as a cornerstone for Parties' reporting under the Convention and the Paris Agreement. Parties and other stakeholders will benefit from hearing the news from the development of the reports.

Objectives
Parties and other stakeholders will benefit from insights on the way forward with these reports and their potential impacts on transparency, as they will eventually be considered in future transparency reporting. This could influence the contributions to transparency reporting. Presenters from the IPCC and the Transparency Division will share information on the expected contents of the reports, timelines, and anticipated impacts.
