The Session will discuss how businesses can help governments and societies achieve a resilient, zero carbon economy, by demonstrating leadership and action for continued and increased support to tackle both the climate emergency through corporate science-based commitments while also addressing COVID-19 impacts. As countries work on economic aid and recovery packages in response to COVID-19, the session will highlight how a better recovery gives low-carbon investments and infrastructure a chance to better meet the goals of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals, while reducing vulnerability to future disasters and building community resilience to address physical, social, environmental and economic shocks.

Objectives of the Session:
- Showcase the importance of keeping momentum for urgent and ambitious climate action as countries work on recovery packages in response to COVID-19, highlighting the linkages between recovery plans and Nationally Determined Contribution enhancement
- Demonstrate leadership and action for continued and increased support to tackle both the climate emergency and COVID-19, through advocacy efforts exemplified by the Statement Uniting Business and Governments to Recover Better, and corporate science-based commitments
- Reach a corporate audience with UN climate actions for better recovery and discuss how companies, governments and civil society can work together towards a just transition for a zero-carbon, zero-poverty, resilient economy
