Background

This session will bring together stakeholders from various institutions and backgrounds to discuss the importance of open data for financing adaptation, how local needs can be better represented in adaptation decision making, and how digital platforms can help mobilise finance at scale for adaptation.

Suggested Outcomes

• Demonstration of how the development of the Resilient Planet Initiative and its finance lab can make real progress towards building resilience.
• Recognition of the need to provide climate risk and solutions information to all, especially those communities most exposed and least equipped to cope with and thrive in the face of climate change.
• Understanding of how the solutions provided can be linked to and enable the effective and sufficient mobilisation of finance for adaptation.
