1. Introduction

The CMA has invited interested UNFCCC constituted bodies to prepare for the technical assessment component of the global stocktake, with the assistance of the secretariat, synthesis reports on the information identified in paragraph 36 of decision 19/CMA.1 in their areas of expertise. The Executive Committee has initiated work on a draft table of contents of the synthesis report at ExCom 12 (October 2020), with a draft annotated table of contents adopted at ExCom 14 (September 2021).

ExCom 14 has also set up a process for the finalization of the contributions of the ExCom to the global stocktake, with a view to preparing a draft version of the synthesis report by February 2022, with the assistance of the secretariat, for finalization in March 2022.  As part of the process to prepare its inputs the Executive Committee has agreed, at ExCom 14, to organize a virtual event in December 2021.
