The expert workshop on the development of training materials for the preparation of biennial update reports (BURs) was organized by the Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE), with the assistance of the secretariat, and was held in Bonn, Germany, on 6 and 7 May 2013. The CGE, recognizing the need to develop training materials that meet the requirements of Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (non-Annex I Parties), organized the workshop in order to seek input from national experts. This report summarizes the outcome of the workshop and the recommendations from the participants relating to the development of training materials to facilitate the preparation of BURs by non-Annex I Parties
