This note summarizes information on the work of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP) with regard to: emissions trading and the project-based mechanisms under the Kyoto Protocol; the rules to guide the treatment of land use, land-use change and forestry; the greenhouse gases, sectors and source categories to be covered, and possible approaches targeting sectoral emissions; and methodologies to be applied for estimating anthropogenic emissions and the global warming potentials of greenhouse gases. It provides an overview of progress in the implementation of the work programme of the AWG-KP since the establishment of this group
