Background

This workshop was organized by the UNFCCC secretariat in accordance with Decision 31/CMP.1 under the guidance of the Chair of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation.  Decision 31/CMP.1, paragraph 11, requests the UNFCCC secretariat  to organize, before COP/MOP 2, a workshop on reporting methodologies on ways to minimize adverse social, environmental and economic impacts on developing country Parties of the implementation of policies and measures by Parties included in Annex I to the Convention in achieving their quantified emission limitation and reduction commitments under Article 3, paragraph 1.
