Negotiating sessions

At each UNFCCC negotiating session, Parties consider issues related to climate technology development and transfer. This page provides summaries of the climate technology issues discussed at each of these sessions. It also contains the documents that the Parties considered.

Summary

The SBI 62 initiated the review of the functions of the Climate Technology Centre, and agreed to continue consideration of this matter at SBI 63, on the basis of the draft text available on the UNFCCC website, with a view to recommending draft decisions on this matter for consideration and adoption at COP 30 and CMA 7. The SBI continued consideration of linkages between the Technology Mechanism and the Financial Mechanism, and agreed to continue consideration of this matter at SBI 63, based on the draft text available on the UNFCCC website, with a view to recommending a draft decision for consideration and adoption at COP 30. The SBI 62 also considered the technology implementation programme. The item will be included in the provisional agenda for the next session, in accordance with rules 10 (c) and 16 of the draft rules of procedure. The consideration of matters relating to the alignment between processes pertaining to the review of the CTCN and the periodic assessment of the Technology Mechanism was deferred to SBI 64.
