The first Joint Work Programme of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism brings together the long-term strategies of the TEC and the CTCN and defines areas of focus for the mechanism as a whole from 2023 to 2027. It is composed of the joint activities and common areas of work of the TEC and CTCN, and the rolling workplan of the TEC and the Programme of Work of the CTCN for a five year period.
The TEC workplan is structured around four workstream, defined to elevate the contributions and impact of the TEC work in supporting the implementation era of the Paris Agreement. The TEC strives to do so by promoting science-based and systemic approaches, bolstering transformative technology solutions, and focusing on high-impact, high-potential sectors and actions and cultivating collaborative partnerships.
