The workshop, to be hosted and chaired by the COP 25 Presidency and the incoming COP 26 Presidency, will be the first of three workshops on the Global Goal on Adaptation as part of each of the Regional Climate Weeks. These workshops are being held in response to Parties' requests at the Head of Delegation Adaptation Consultation in February to have more space for discussions on the Global Goal on Adaptation.

Each of the workshops will have the same objectives: to better understand each other’s views on how progress can be made on the Global Goal on Adaptation and come to a better understanding of principles for future discussion for the Global Stocktake.
