Part I - Acting on the gender and climate GAP: progress and reflections
Context
At COP 25 Parties adopted the 5-year enhanced Lima work programme on gender and its gender action plan (decision 3/CP.25), which included a request to the secretariat to organize, with the contribution of the national gender and climate change focal points (NGCCFPs), Parties and relevant organizations, two in-session workshops at SB 52 on the role of National Gender and Climate Change Focal Points and on gender integration in national climate policies, plans, strategies and actions.
Due to the global COVID-19 situation, an alternative plan was prepared to ensure the delivery of the mandated workshops and the achievement of their expected deliverables. This plan was presented at the Gender and Climate Change Global Launch Event as part of the June Momentum for Climate Change.
Description/Objective
Join this event to catch the highlights of the virtual event series, see the progress made in implementing the Lima work programme on gender and its gender action plan in 2020 and reflect on the latest data on who participates in climate negotiations. Part II of the event will feature a live discussion of award-winning climate solutions that are being led by women around the world.
Parties, observers and everyone welcome!
