Part I of the 4^th meeting of the Consultative Group of Experts

Summary of outcome

The Consultative Group of Experts (CGE) met for part I of the 4th meeting on 14 September 2020 from 14:30 – 17:30 (CEST).  Nine-teen (19) CGE members and one (1) observer attended the meeting.

The main objective of the meeting was to review the progress in preparation of the virtual regional hands-on training workshops, including the draft training materials that were prepared by the secretariat.

The key summary of the outcomes of the first part of the 4^th CGE meeting includes the following:

• The CGE members reviewed the draft training materials for the virtual regional hands-on training workshops and provided guidance to revise the training materials.  
• The CGE requested the secretariat to revise the training materials and to also make them available in Arabic, French, Spanish and Russian.
• The CGE considered to organize its informal forum during the Climate Dialogues to be held from 23 November to 4 December, to showcase the implementation of its 2020 workplan.
• Finally, the CGE also agreed to hold the second part of the 4th CGE meeting in a virtual setting on 9 and 10 December, where the CGE will take stock of its 2020 workplan and discuss the CGE’s progress report for 2020. To this extent, the CGE requested the secretariat to make the necessary arrangements.
