Enhanced Lima work programme on gender
At COP 29, Parties agreed (Decision 7/CP.29) to extend the enhanced Lima Work Programme on Gender for a further ten years, reaffirming its critical role in advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women within the UNFCCC process. They also decided that the development of a new Gender Action Plan will commence at the sixty-second session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation in June 2025, with the aim of recommending a draft decision for consideration and adoption at COP 30 in November 2025.
Belém gender action plan
At COP 30, Parties adopted the Belém Gender Action Plan (2026–2034) (Decision 7/CP.30), outlining 27 activities and 98 deliverables to advance gender-responsive climate policies and actions worldwide.
On March 8th, we launched a global digital activation for International Women's Day 2026. Many of you shared your contributions to gender equality and climate action, through videos, articles, and short snippets.
