Enhanced Lima work programme on gender
At COP 29, Parties agreed (Decision 7/CP.29) to extend the enhanced Lima Work Programme on Gender for a further ten years, reaffirming its critical role in advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women within the UNFCCC process. They also decided that the development of a new Gender Action Plan will commence at the sixty-second session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation in June 2025, with the aim of recommending a draft decision for consideration and adoption at COP 30 in November 2025.
Belém gender action plan
At COP 30, Parties adopted the Belém Gender Action Plan (2026–2034), outlining 27 activities and 98 deliverables to advance gender-responsive climate policies and actions worldwide.
