Join us during the Climate Week 4 Implementation Forum

Discover how non-market approaches under Article 6.8 of the Paris Agreement can support the implementation of nationally determined contributions through voluntary international cooperation.

This interactive workshop will introduce the Article 6.8 framework and explore how non-market approaches can strengthen cooperation beyond carbon markets, including through finance, technology development and transfer, and capacity-building. Using practical examples, participants will learn how to identify potential non-market approaches, bring existing cooperation initiatives into the framework and determine possible next steps for Parties and non-Party stakeholders.

Held as part of the Implementation Forum at Climate Week 4, the workshop will contribute to the Global Climate Action Agenda axis on “Unleashing enablers and accelerators”.

Format

The workshop will be a two-hour interactive technical session delivered in person by UNFCCC, featuring participant polling, quizzes and discussion. It is open to all Climate Week participants as part of the Implementation Forum.

Please note the exact workshop location within the Baku Convention Centre will be confirmed closer to the date.

Participation

Delegates registered for any mandated events taking place during Climate Week may automatically join the Implementation Forum and do not need to register separately. Other participants not attending mandated events may register for the Implementation Forum here. No separate registration process is required for the workshop.

The workshop will also be streamed for online viewing, however virtual participation will not be possible.
