Background

COP 30, CMP 20 and CMA 7 decided that two-day global dialogue on the impacts of the implementation of response measures shall be held each year from 2026 to 2029, to be organized in conjunction with an intersessional meeting of the Katowice Committee on Impacts, noting that such dialogues should be conducted in hybrid format to allow for both in-person and virtual participation (decisions 6/CP.30, 2/CMP.20 and 14/CMA.7).

Third dialogue on Impacts of Implementation of Response Measures

The third global dialogue on the impacts of the implementation of response measures is organized in partnership with United Nations Economic and Social Committee for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and held in conjunction with the 15th meeting of the Katowice Committee on Impacts (KCI). The global dialogue is organized, under the guidance of the Chairs of the subsidiary bodies, pursuant to decisions 6/CP.30, 2/CMP.20 and 14/CMA.7.

Taking into account submissions from Parties, observers, and other non-Party stakeholders, the Chairs of the subsidiary bodies have determined that the 2026 dialogue will focus on “Economic diversification and structural resilience in global transition pathways to manage impacts on vulnerable populations across sectors”.
