"An emissions trading system puts a limit, or cap, on emissions across the EU from the sectors covered. The EU emissions trading system (EU ETS) is the central common instrument for achieving the EU climate objectives. is an important component in Sweden’s efforts to limit greenhouse gas emissions. The system was introduced in 2005 and covers all EU countries as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The emissions trading system is based on supply and demand, and is a market-based system in which the price is set by the market. The trading system sets a ‘cap’ that is gradually reduced for the total emissions from the facilities included. Emissions trading covers about half of the EU’s sources of emissions in energy production and energy-intensive industries. Under a revised EU ETS Directive (EU Directive No 2009/29), one single EU ETS cap covers all EU Member States and the three participating non-EU Member States (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein),which means that there are no further differentiated caps by country. For allowances allocated to the EU ETS sectors, annual caps have been set for the period from 2013 to 2020. These caps decrease by 1.74 % annually, starting from the average level of allowances issued by Member States for the second trading period (2008–2012). The annual caps imply interim targets for emission reductions in sectors covered by the EU ETS for each year until 2020. In 2017, verified emissions from stationary installations covered under the EU ETS in Sweden totalled 19.7 Mt CO2-eq. with total GHG emissions of 52.7 Mt CO2-eq (without LULUCF), the share of ETS emissions is 37 %. The monitoring process for the ETS is harmonized for all EU Member States (Commission Regulation No 601/2012). The use of flexible mechanisms is possible under the EU ETS."

Government has approved Phase-II of FAME Scheme with an outlay of Rs. 10,000 Crore for a period of 3 years commencing from 1st April 2019. Out of total budgetary support, about 86 percent of fund has been allocated for Demand Incentive so as to create demand for xEVs in the country. This phase aims to generate demand by way of supporting 7000 e-Buses, 5 lakh e-3 Wheelers, 55000 e-4 Wheeler Passenger Cars (including Strong Hybrid) and 10 lakh e-2 Wheelers. However, depending upon off-take of different category of xEVs, these numbers may vary as the provision has been made for inter as well as intra segment wise fungibility. Only advanced battery and registered vehicles will be incentivized under the scheme. With greater emphasis on providing affordable & environment friendly public transportation options for the masses, scheme will be applicable mainly to vehicles used for public transport or those registered for commercial purposes in e-3W, e-4W and e-bus segments. However, privately owned registered e-2Ws are also covered under the scheme as a mass segment.

The objective of activities affected by this policy example is energy savings, CO2e emission reduction, and pollutant emission reduction, among many other benefits. In the context of co-financing cleaner transport projects, it is necessary to define specific co-financing lines for specific purposes for the purchase of vehicles powered by electricity, CNG/CBG, LNG/LBG and hydrogen. Incentive co-financing measures for vehicle procurement should be carried out consistently and continuously, focusing primarily on alternative fuels for which an assessment of the existing situation showed a low representation of vehicles in the total number of vehicles, and will be limited in time until monitoring shows a minimal representation of vehicles. The minimum market launch will be considered to be a 1 percent share of alternative fuel vehicles in the total number of vehicles registered in the country.

A sub-programme of the Jedlik Ányos Plan, which provides support to natural persons and companies for purchasing electric cars and lorries under 3.5 tonnes. Support is maximised at 21 % of the price or HUF 1.5 million. The sub-programme was launched in 2016. The ministry will provide a total of HUF 3 billion in the form of non-refundable grants for the same purpose this year. Applications can be submitted by any natural person residing in Hungary or by a non-governmental organization, association or higher education institution with a registered office, site or branch in Hungary.

The government will promote modal shifts to transportation modes with lower CO2 emission intensity, joint transportation and delivery, and consolidation of transportation networks to reduce CO2 emissions by shortening the distance of cargo transport by trucks, as well as to solve the shortage of drivers by reducing the waiting time for trucks. Also, the standardization of pallets and slips related to logistics will be promoted, as well as the efficiency of transportation throughout the supply chain, leading to a dramatic increase in productivity in the logistics field and the realization of an attractive working environment. Furthermore, the government will strive for the decarbonization of logistics with the help of digitalization, thorough improvement in productivity and loading efficiency through collaboration between cargo owners and business operators (drastic improvement in specific CO2 emissions), electrified regional transportation/distribution, and fuel decarbonization for long-distance transportation. Additionally, how to appropriately promote energy efficiency and conservation efforts made by shippers and carriers will be studied.

"Japan accelerates the spread of fuel cell vehicles and the systematic development of hydrogen stations. Among them, FC trucks in particular are expected to have a cumulative installation of up to 15 million units by 2050, amounting to about 300 trillion yen. Currently, from the perspective of reducing the burden on businesses and users to expand the use of fuel cell vehicles, the government is studying the state of regulations for fuel cell vehicles, etc., with a view to unifying related regulations under the ""Road Vehicles Law"" and the ""High Pressure Gas Safety Law"", and will compile certain directions in June and reach a conclusion by the end of this year. The government will also study measures to support the introduction of FC trucks as part of demonstrations to accelerate their commercialization and the promotion of electrification. In addition, necessary infrastructure development such as hydrogen refueling stations will be implemented in a flexible and timely manner according to the situation. Specifically, in addition to development and demonstration of large hydrogen refueling stations, efforts for cost reduction such as consideration of the boost of hydrogen tank accepted in Europe will be continued by means of further regulatory reform and so on."

Emissions reduction is an ongoing strategic focus in GPS 2018. Through GPS 2018, nearly $4 billion will be invested in public transport, rapid transit and rail over three years, with a further $390 million for walking and cycling. Work on GPS 2021 is under way.

This is a Green Infrastructure program under the Investing in Canada Plan. The $200 million Emerging Renewable Power Program was launched in February 2018 to support the deployment of emerging renewable energy technologies and to expand the portfolio of commercially viable renewable energy sources available to provinces and territories as they work to reduce GHG emissions from their electricity sectors. The call for proposals launched on February 26, 2018 and closed on April 20, 2018. Four projects have since been announced; with $29.8 million funding for an instream tidal project in the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia, $25.6 million for a deep geothermal project near Estevan Saskatchewan, $15.3 million for a solar project near Suffield Alberta and $25.4 million for a deep geothermal project in the Municipal District of Greenview.

To induce sustainable production and consumption patterns, fostering more sustainable behavior, promoting eco-innovation and resource efficiency, fostering entrepreneurship and job creation, reducing energy dependence from abroad, the efficient achievement of targets and international objectives and diversification of revenue sources. Positive discrimination on motor vehicles taxes trough a CO2 Component on Motor Vehicles Taxes (2009): 1) CO2 component on registration tax; 2) CO2 component on the annual circulation tax; 3) Exemption of registration and annual circulation taxes for electric vehicles. Tax Incentives for Efficiency and Low Carbon Options (2015), namely Plug-in hybrid and LPG/NGV vehicles, Renewables in urban buildings and other low-carbon products and services, with certification or incorporation of recycled material.

The Master Plan conserves the nine major ecological areas of the city and builds a three-level (regional-district-community) ecological corridor. The plan calls for constructing a blue-green infrastructure network that will help the city increase resilience. It aims to reconnect nature, society, and the city, adaptively responding to the changing climate through five guiding principles: sustainability, nature-positive approach, carbon neutrality, resilience, and cultural vitality. 
Specifically, the Plan sets spatial control measures by defining “three bottom lines” (ecological conservation zone, permanent farmland boundary, and urban growth boundary). Additionally, it integrates the “sponge city” concept and a five-dimensional cooling strategy (smart planning, smart surfaces, smart design, smart facilities, and smart energy) to improve urban ventilation, capture rainwater, reduce energy consumption, and create a comfortable, climate-adapted urban habitat.

"Japan will continue to work on research, development, and demonstration of innovative technologies for hydrogen use, transportation, and production, and conduct intensive demonstrations of hydrogen utilization in various fields, focusing on locations where hydrogen production facilities have already been established, such as Fukushima, as well as ports, waterfront areas, and airports, including power plants where large-scale hydrogen demand is expected. Specifically, while utilizing the Green Innovation Fund, the project aims to establish a model for social implementation that will serve as a forerunner for the realization of a hydrogen society, by working on the integrated demonstration of hydrogen transportation technology for mass and low-cost hydrogen through the establishment of an international hydrogen supply chain and hydrogen power generation technology for which a large demand for hydrogen is expected in the future, as well as the development and demonstration of technology for reducing supply costs by increasing the size of water electrolyzer and utilizing the produced hydrogen as a raw material for basic chemicals. We also aim to solve regional issues such as the creation of disaster-resistant communities through the demonstration, transition support, and dissemination of independent and decentralized energy systems that utilize local resources such as renewable energy will also be implemented. At the same time, Carbon Neutrality in ports and waterfront areas will be realized by having multiple businesses use the large amount of imported hydrogen for a variety of purposes, including the introduction of stand- alone hydrogen and other power sources that also serve as emergency power sources, and port cargo handling machinery that use fuel cells."

AMI offers the necessary observability, monitoring and recoverability of data and measurements of electric energy and power at the customer's connection point. AMI increases the accuracy of load and demand forecasting, improves the system analysis, enables the load and demand management and in effect the optimisation of the operation of the Distribution System. AMI aids at managing EV Charging, PV System management and generation monitoring, optimisation of RES generation forecasting, maximises RES penetration, enables remote DSO operations (connections/ disconnections, meter reading), aids at the reduction of non-technical losses.

Installation of PV Systems in Public Schools up to 20kW with Net-metering

The evaluation which follows is based on just a first tentative to come with some elements for evaluating incentives for pedelecs: • Speedpedelec gets fiscal deductibility of 120% for buying and 22 cent/km (indexed) for using it. • A 15% income tax reduction for all pedelecs and speed pedelec when bought is added. This PAM results in a reduction of emissions in the non-ETS sector. At the end of the study, it was decided that the 15% tax reduction for pedelecs and speed pedelecs when bought will not be implemented. With the 15% tax reduction not applied, the main remaining part of this PAM is the per km cycling allowance for home-work traffic. This measure is then similar to the TR-A03, promoting bicycle use (except for the fiscal deductibility for speed pedelecs). Therefore, this PAM is integrated in the TR-A03 and is no longer evaluated separately.
