This report provides information on the progress of Parties in the process to formulate and implement national adaptation plans, as compiled by the Least Developed Countries Expert Group as part of its work programme for 2025–2026, with inputs from a task force established to support its preparation. It updates the information reported for 2025 in document FCCC/SBI/2025/17, pivoting towards a focus on implementation over formulation of national adaptation plans. In doing so, the report presents an analytical framework for evaluating progress in implementing national adaptation plans and reviewing the status of aspects relevant to their implementation, such as access to funding for projects corresponding to adaptation priorities identified in those plans.
